The Einsenland Mark was introduced in 1848 following the unification of the Einsen territories, replacing the various currencies of the former principalities. The name Mark follows the Germanic tradition of weight-based currency naming, referring to a historical unit of weight used in the region.
History
First Mark (1848–1923)
The original Einsenland Mark was established by the Currency Unification Act of 1848. Initially backed by silver (and later gold), it served as the national currency through the First Republic era. Post-World War I inflation severely devalued the First Mark.
Second Mark (1923–present)
The Currency Reform of 1923, concurrent with the adoption of the Grundordnung, introduced the Second Mark at a rate of 1,000,000 old marks to 1 new mark. The Second Mark has remained remarkably stable, surviving World War II through the government-in-exile's careful financial management and post-war reconstruction policies.

- Manages foreign currency reserves
- Supervises the banking sector
- Issues currency and manages payment systems
- Targets an annual inflation rate of approximately 2.0%
